OAK HOUSE

Old Buckenham

A large luxury 5 bedroom family house in 3.2 acres of grounds converted and extended from a 3 bedroom 17th century clay lump farmers cottage. In addition a 4 bay cart lodge with accommodation above was added.

Planning permission was gained to extend  effectively building a new house on the end of the existing cottage creating a new frontage as well as the removal and rebuild of an existing rear single storey extension which included vaulted ceilings. Traditional crafts and character were maintained and enhanced including Oak beams and flintwork whilst modern green technology was applied including underfloor heating from a woodchip boiler and solar panels.

Oak House consists of 5 bedrooms 2 with ensuites, family bathroom, large open plan family living kitchen dining area, utility room, living room, playroom, large study/office, downstairs shower room and separate downstairs WC. Outside was completed with natural stone patios and paving a large Oak porch and brick and flint walls, lawns and stone driveways. The Oak fronted cart lodge was completed with electric roller doors and includes electric car charging points.
